This is a translation. The Japanese version of these Terms is the original. If there is any discrepancy between the two, the Japanese version prevails.

Article 1 (Application)

  1. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using LYR (the “Service”) provided by the Developer. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

  2. Where the Service is offered: The Service is offered only to users in the countries and regions the Developer has selected for distribution on Google Play. It is not offered in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Türkiye, Russia, mainland China, Vietnam, or Indonesia, and it is not offered or advertised to users in those regions. The set of distribution regions may change without notice.

  3. Minors: If you are a minor (you have not reached the age of majority under the laws of your country or region), you must obtain the consent of a parent or other legal guardian before using the Service and before purchasing the paid plan. Please also see the separately established Privacy Policy for the ages of users the Service is intended for.

Article 2 (Description of the Service)

  1. The Service extracts text on the screen of your Android device using OCR and displays translation results as an overlay by way of an external translation API.
  2. The form, specifications, and features of the Service may be changed or discontinued without prior notice to users.

Article 3 (Fees)

  1. The Service offers two plans: a free plan and a paid plan.

  2. Free plan: You may use the Service within an allowance of 30 credits per day. Credits are shared across screen translation, real-time translation (Live), and audio translation (Audio), and are consumed as follows.

    • Screen translation (Page / Manga): 1 credit per translation
    • Real-time translation (Live): 1 credit per 30 seconds (2 credits per minute)
    • Audio translation (Audio): 1 credit per 30 seconds (2 credits per minute)

    Accordingly, if you spend all of your credits on the time-based features (Live or Audio), the daily maximum is 15 minutes in total. Credits reset when the date changes on your device. The number of credits and the consumption rates may change in accordance with Article 9.

  3. Paid plan: You may use the Service without the credit limit described in the preceding paragraph.

  4. Price display: Prices for the paid plan are displayed on Google Play in the currency of your country or region. The amount and billing period shown on the purchase screen are what apply.

  5. Subscription and automatic renewal: The paid plan is offered as a monthly or annual subscription through Google Play Billing. Unless you cancel, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period and you are charged the same amount.

  6. Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from the “Subscriptions” screen in Google Play. To stop the next charge, Google Play requires that you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. After cancellation, you may continue to use the paid features until the end of the period already paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds if you cancel partway through a billing period.

  7. Refunds: Whether a refund is available, and the procedure for it, are governed by Google Play’s terms and policies. The Developer cannot issue refunds independently for charges made through Google Play.

  8. Price changes: The Developer may revise prices. Price increases for existing subscribers will be notified in advance as required by Google Play, and consent will be sought where necessary. If you do not consent, you may cancel under the preceding paragraph.

Article 4 (Prohibited Conduct)

In using the Service, you must not:

  1. Violate laws and regulations or public order and morals
  2. Engage in conduct connected with criminal activity
  3. Decompile, analyze, or modify the source code of the Service (except within the lawful scope of security research)
  4. Extract or redistribute the Service’s API keys, credentials, or similar
  5. Use the Service to reproduce or translate a third party’s copyrighted work without permission and exploit it commercially
  6. Place an excessive load on the Service’s servers or on external APIs
  7. Infringe the rights or interests of other users or third parties
  8. Engage in any other conduct the Developer deems inappropriate

Article 5 (Treatment of Translation Results)

  1. Translation results from the Service are based on the probabilistic inference of large language models (LLMs), and their accuracy and completeness are not guaranteed.
  2. If you rely on translation results for important decisions in business, academic, legal, medical, or similar contexts, you must have them verified by a specialist or an official translator.

Article 6 (Copyright)

  1. Copyright in the content you input into the Service (that is, display on your screen) belongs to its original author.
  2. You represent and warrant that you have the right to process the content to be translated with the Service.
  3. All intellectual property rights in the Service’s software, UI design, documentation, logo, and everything else belong to the Developer.

Article 7 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Developer bears no liability whatsoever for any damage arising from use of the Service (including direct or indirect damage, lost profits, and data loss).
  2. The Developer makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, as to the availability, accuracy, or security of the Service.
  3. The Service depends on external translation API services, and periods may occur in which the Service is unavailable due to suspension or specification changes of those services.

Article 8 (Changes to and Termination of the Service)

The Developer may change the content of the Service or discontinue providing it without prior notice to users. The Developer bears no liability whatsoever for any damage this causes users.

Article 9 (Changes to These Terms)

The Developer may change these Terms without prior notice to users when it deems it necessary. The revised Terms take effect upon notice within the Service or upon updating the “Last updated” date at the top of these Terms.

Article 10 (Privacy)

Handling of user information is governed by the separately established Privacy Policy.

Article 11 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
  2. In the event of a dispute between the Developer and a user concerning the Service, the Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive court of first instance by agreement.
